Rudy is having a recurring nightmare.

It’s abstract and seems completely harmless to him when he’s awake, but it terrorizes him at night and prevents him from sleeping. His worsening insomnia is affecting his desperate plans to wrangle a promotion at work.

Other contenders for the job face their own problems. Whether Donna is theorizing about the new hire’s evil plans, Sheila is stirring up drama to foil would-be backstabbers, or Rudy is hallucinating about alligator pits, each employee is in their own way—and nobody else seems willing to help.
