Max found the crystalline Orb on the day when Jamie stopped swimming in cutoff jeans and put on a bikini.
The Orb became Max’s obsession. He was sure the Orb was causing the vivid daydreams. Max began to think he was being manipulated by the Orb.
Max knew the Orb was showing him important things in the visions. The trigger was saving the boy on the ice. It was first clue there was more to the visions and the Orb.
Max had seen the future and knew what he needed to do to protect his friends.
